Apple beats Apple the record label

Apple Computers has won a lawsuit against Apple (Beatles' Record Label). Apple was sued because Apple Corps felt that they violated a 1991 agreement over not entering the music business. The lawsuit was over the highly successful iTunes Music Store. The U.K. judge ruled in favor of Apple Computers because he said that the Apple logo was used in association with the store and not with the music itself so therefore Apple Computers did not violate any Terms of Agreement.

If the ruling had gone the other way then Apple Computers might have had to completely change the iTunes Music Store and maybe disband it all together. This is a huge win for Apple and allows them to maintain their significant monopoly over the music business.
